SESSION OVERVIEW

Help your daughter feel more confident, aware and prepared as she takes the next step from primary to secondary school.

Suitable for 11-12 yr olds, this friendly, age-appropriate course introduces self-defence in a sensitive and empowering way, giving girls practical tools to recognise risk, set boundaries and respond with confidence.

Through a mix of discussion, games, exercises and hands-on practice, participants will explore everyday situations including peer pressure, bullying, verbal harassment, online behaviour and more serious threats.

The focus is on building confidence, awareness and decision-making skills in a supportive environment.

Course overview:

  • Awareness, confidence and assertiveness-building

  • Clear boundary-setting, including how to handle peer pressure and bullying

  • Practical striking techniques, with safe practice using strike pads

  • Understanding vulnerable areas of the body and which tools are best to target them

  • Recognising online abuse, unsafe behaviour and other red flags

  • Knowing where to go for help

Places are limited to 16 girls so everyone has time to ask questions, take part fully and practise techniques in a safe, encouraging setting.

Due to limited space in the room, parents and carers are asked to drop participants off and collect them at the end of the session.
